The Good News
You are all welcome at the table of God—every person, adult, and child—for Christ brings peace to all, tearing down every hostile wall so that the many may become one: one heart, one family, one new humanity. For God, who is love, and Christ, who is all and in all, shows no partiality and makes no distinction, so neither race nor class, gender nor sexuality, politics nor religion, personality nor nationality counts for or against us. The light of Christ enlightens us all: Christ the prisoner and the naked, Christ the hungry and the sick, Christ the thirsty and the stranger, Christ the other. God's spirit brings presence to our chaos, reconciliation to our hatred, and mercy to our indifference; descends into our hearts with love; and sends us out into the world to listen, serve, forgive, and restore. We are all welcome at the table of God.
God's incredible story
The authors of the Bible were inspired to write God's story for everyone. This narrative explains that there are Creator, Jesus, and Spirit persons of God. Humans were created as divine reflections of God, yet with the potential to go our own way and not follow the desires of God’s heart. Because of this, God offers spiritual wholeness and hope through Jesus, who lived a profound life and miraculously overcame death. God has now given us the Spirit who affirms who we are and gives us a new life. This new life is practiced by believing in Jesus and by loving others. This practice is done in a community, a gathering of people who desire to share with the world this incredible promise of hope. This new community is celebratory, devoted to God’s teaching, partakers of communion, and we immerse each other in water as a sign of our faith and practice. One day, God will return and recreate everything. Our relationship with God and all of creation will be made new. This makes life worth living and is a story in which we each have a part.
